The Parts of the Interface

The Home Center interface is easy to use and has a common layout across all pages.

What's what?
  1. The software version of the Home Center.
The Home Center can be updated online when new versions become available.
  2. The Z-Wave log.
Any messages to or from Z-Wave devices will appear here. This is also where you will see messages letting you know if devices have been successfully added or removed from the system.
  3. The weather information for the location of the Home Center. Once the location of the Home Center is correct, the Home Center will collect weather information from Yahoo! Weather and display it here.
  4. The current date and time.
By default, once the location of the Home Center is correct, the system will keep this accurate to within tens of milliseconds. It will automatically adjust to Summer Time too.
  5. The main menu.
Clicking on each of these icons will take you to the main pages on the Home Center. See below for more details of these sections.
  6. The page menu.
This menu will change function depending on the main page you are on. It will usually contain links to further pages with more detailed information, or a list of devices or scenes that are relevant to the current page.
  7. The popup menu.
This menu will remain in the same place on the right of the screen while you scroll up and down a page. As well as links to the same pages as the main menu (see below), the popup menu has the following three extra buttons:
  8. Top Button    The Top button. This will scroll up to the top of the page.
Save Button Save Button - Active    The Save button. This button is very important! If it turns blue, make sure you click it if you make changes on a page or the changes will be lost.
Logout Button    The logout button. This will log you out of the Home Center 2 and return you to the login page.
  9. The page content.
This is where the content of each page will be displayed. This is where all your devices will be controlled, your scenes created and your energy consumption displayed.

Panels are pages that allow you to manage groups of related devices or settings in the system. Alarm actions, heating and cooling, humidity and sprinkler control are all examples of panels. There are also panels that allow you to view system events, grant permissions for different users (including monitor their location) and configure smart phone push notification content.
Clicking this button will open the 'Configuration' page.
On this page you can download updates for your Home Center and backup or restore its configuration. You can change its network settings, assign it a location and timezone or if it is a Home Center 2, connect it with other Home Centers on your network or around the world.
